2nd Anniversary of Right Knee!

Hi Everyone!

Today is the second anniversary of my right knee surgery! 😄

Feeling good and still VERY, VERY satisfied with my decision to have my second knee replacement. My left knee was replaced three and a half months before this one.

It just dawned on me today that my KNEES and our GRANDDAUGHTER (age 2) are the same age!!! 😁

Wishing everyone a pain-free time, good health, and many happy experiences!??

      Thank you!😄

Yes, it has been GREAT being able to get my life back after many years of severe knee pain! I have arthritis in many parts of my body, so I STILL experience pain, but my knees are GREAT!😁😁

I hope you will experience success next year with YOUR second knee!??

Hi Cheryl. That all sounds very encouraging thank you. At some point in the near future I'm having to have my second knee done. I'm hoping for a positive final result like you. Thanks

      Thanks, Daphne!

Having my second surgery finally gave me two knees that worked as a team! I honestly couldn't WAIT to have my second one done. It was SO painful compared to my new strong and straight knee!

You will do great! Let me know how it all goes for you, ok???

I'm looking forward to the left one being done. Like you I want to be able to walk. I have two dogs that love their run but are currently walked by family members. I hope to start lead walking them again next week. Onwards and upwards. X

Each day challenge yourself a bit more. If it is too much, your body will let you know! If that happens, rest and enjoy a recoup day. Start again when you recover.

I found that I needed to give myself a pep talk from time to time!📣

The body is an amazing thing! Healing is truly a MIRACLE!

      Stay strong.

      Be persistent.

      Be PATIENT.

      You can do this!!!

      Happy dog walking!🐕🐾🐾🐕🐾🐾

I LOVE positive outcomes.  I'm 18 months out and have virtually no residual effects.  Tough recovery but great results if you've put in the work.  Slack off and you'll never get full ROM or strength back.  A year of hard work for a lifetime of life quality.  Great deal...if you stay focused and do the work.  Congratulations!!!!!!!

      Thanks!😄

I was so happy that I was in less pain than I had been for YEARS! I couldn't WAIT to get moving again! I was so grateful for my SIX MONTHS of physical therapy with my Knee#1 then Knee#2 coming shortly after. Sandy was always ready to show me new exercises and provide new challenges. My balance work sure did help me be able to get out to my garden and flower beds MUCH sooner than I ever hoped!😁 My rock collecting trip to the beach was a GREAT workout on all those steps AND my rock garden looks great with the new edging of rocks, too!

For me, my need to be independent really drove my recovery. It is very hard for me to let others do things for me that I can do myself. Each new thing that I was able to do again MYSELF just made me thirsty to do MORE. I also had fun being creative with adapting PT exercises to HOME settings that accomplished jobs needing to be done. My physical therapist, Sandy, would always ask me what new "exercises" I had invented!

Thanks for hanging around here to help and advise others. You've been through a lot as has Old Fat Guy. I always check to see what you guys have to say! I always learn new things when I come here.

      Keep posting.

      Keep progressing.

      Rock on!!!🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎸

"Independence" is a very powerful recovery driver.  Not many people can see their own "driver" through their pain.  Love that you found yours.

My pre-surgery pain was bad. Couldn't wait to be done with it! My worst pain with Knee #1 was from the TOURNIQUET. I called it my "steak knife" pain. Felt like someone had stabbed me in my thigh. My knee was good. Knee #2 was my worst knee so I was prepared for WAR! War never came, thank goodness!

I AM a big believer in prayer. Put myself in God's hands from the moment I was in the prep room. I have to give Him ALL the credit!??
