2nd night hell!!

Posted , 1 user is following.

well its been the 2nd night on the setraline, and its been a nightmare!!

the first night was fine,

i take 50mg at around 6pm

before going to bed talk about mood swings,i was like a bear with a very sore head, being very aggressive,

last night i could not get to sleep at all,

as i was keeping my partner awake i decided to try and sleep on the couch, with little joy,my tummy rumbled all night, and i had some real scary dark thoughts as i lay there and felt real anxious that i may do something silly,

it scared the crap out of me!!!

this morning i have a headache as i have done on and off for the past nigh on 10 days now,

but i do feel a little more settled,

whats going on?

I took sertraline for the first time last night. 100mg and I woke up at 2am having the most almightly panic attack, my heart was racing and I had thoughts that I was going to \"lose the plot\". I got up and went to the bathroom but was walking like a puppet on a string, when I got to the bathroom I felt like I was going to have to crawl back to my bed - I was totally out of it. I was wide awake from 2am-5am,restless and my legs were wriggling all night! I am now at work and feel very shaky, my body feels like I am very mildy shivering... I have called my Dr and asked her to call me back. I dont think I will dare take a 2nd tablet.. I feel teerrible!

Pleased you felt better this afternoon, I felt \"stoned\" all day as well!! I feel less zombie like, but a bit shell-shocked from my panic attack I guess - have never felt anything like that before. But... my Dr called me and was lovely, they said what I described is a definite bad reaction/panic attack and they reassured me I wasnt losing the plot! I decided I didnt want to risk a 2nd tablet and my Dr has taken me off sertraline and now I have Fluoexitine - 20mg a day, which I have been on before. Bizarrely my Dr told me I have been on Sertraline before (4 years ago) but they put me back on fluoexitine as I asked to come off sertraline as I had restless legs at night..I do not remember having any of the other horrid side effects I had last night/today though! I really hope you are ok tonight and the side effects fade.. smile

Good, I am pleased you are finding they are working and the side effects arent so severe! I guess it takes time for the body to get used to the new chemicals.. I have felt a lot calmer today and found myself not stressing like I have been, I can now feel an air of \"oh well never mind\" instead of \" :bleep: \"!!! Good luck with everything and I am sending you lots of calm and happy thoughts! :D
