2nd pre op!

Morning my lovelies!
Feeling nervous this morning, I have my 2nd pre op before the big day on Tuesday!
I'm trying to convince myself that I've got no pain and don't need the op! Then I start my shift at work, then I realise I'm being daft!!
Oh well I'm off to work for my last shift now before my op date! ( I work with autistic children and going to miss them loads!) It's only for 2.5 hours then the hospital!
Have a lovely day hippies and hippies to be!

I, too, tried to convince myself I didn't need it doing really......so I can empathise with you...but now almost three weeks post-op I am glad I did! I can honestly say it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I had imagined....and I am sure you will be fine, too!
will keep everything crossed for your op, and a speedy recovery !
Best wishes

I have put up with the pain in my left hip for 6-8 YEARS putting all the weight on the opposite leg. Now following the hip replacement it is just the same ONLY EVEN MORE painful. Who ever is telling people hips are less painful than knees and less time to recuperate is not telling the truth. The HIP takes ALL your body's weight to stand, where as a knee has the help of both hips already. I think the hip is far worse, and I had a total knee done on the opposite side 6 yrs. ago. Have to get the other knee done when the hip is finally healed enough. Not looking forward to that. But I can see there are people in here with worse situations than me. I will NEVER let a Dr. perform any surgery on my spine. Even with all it's problems. They are just NOT successful at all. Good luck with your hip replacement. The one nice thing it took me a good 4 days to get all the anesthesia out of me, so I did not feel the pain.

You DO need this op! I felt very scared and weepy the last couple of days before my op.
Today is my furst day post op and I feel great. Yes there has been some pain but am given loads of analgesia to keep it under control. I even had the dreaded spinal anaesthetic and SO glad I did.
Not been allowed up yet as I bled too much in theatre but will be getting up today. Stick it out Linzh - you'll be so glad you did.

then I only had to remind myhself of the last visit to the local shops when I was in pain after 25 yards walking down the street!
Now I'm 5 and 1/2 weeks and beginning to walk better. Yes I still have aches especially when I'm on my feet for a while, but they are the post op ones and they are getting gradually less in intensity. I don't have that deep pain from walking that I had before. Yippee!
Good luck on Tuesday - I'll be having my post op surgeon meet that day!
