Well day 5 after my second tkr and going really well not at all like the first one. On meds but pain is controlled with paracetamol liquid morphine and tramadol. Icing regularly and light exercises too. Just hope this continues. Can't believe it but I went into this op eyes wide open but had prepared myself physically and mentally and seems to be paying off. So anyone who is rethinking about their second tkr do it. Wishing you all well xx

So true, I had my second tkr done 5 weeks ago, 1 year after my first replacement of the other knee. Yes it is painful, yes it is a long road and yes it is worth going through all of the pain. Everyone that goes through this needs to stay positive and keep working hard the rewards are worth every bit of this long process. I just thought another

Positive comment would help others in our same situation.

How long ago did you have the first one.

I had a TKR a year ago and all is good with the knee itself other than constant pain below the knee and to both sides and at the back over the last few weeks and feels like a lead weight all the time

Hi Ann glad to hear that you are making a smoother recovery this time!

I had my second TKR last week and cant take anything stronger than paracetamol or ibuprofen! Tramadol and Codeine both give me hellucinations ! I ice every two hours and do the excercises I have been given. I find sleeping at night on my back a real problem! Having been through it once before I know that each week will see an improvement!

    Hope your recovery continues well!

    Best foot forward!
