3 & 1/2 years on

Hi All,

I hope all my hysterectomy friends are well and that all new ladies to come on here are getting the support we all need/needed.

I am 3 and 1/2 years on from my hysterectomy and doing really well, mostly, I just was wondering if any ladies at around the same timescale as myself, still get slightly swollen tummies if they overdo something such as lift something really heavy, ie. 15kg sack of dog food, or overreach? like I have done today, I was cleaning my bedroom windows (inside not out, lol) and was foolishly reaching across something that I should have moved, afterwards I had that old feeling of my tummy complaining bitterly (no pain) and swollen feeling, I haven't had this for absolutely ages and just wondered if it has happened to anyone else?

Many thanks.

Hi. I have been reading over your posts and I am glad to hear you are well. I cannot speak for any discomfort 3 1/2 years post surgery as I am only at the 5 week mark. smile

Hi Sheina, I still remember being at the stage you are, it doesn't seem possible I had my op 3 & 1/2 years ago, the time has gone by so fast, wishing you well with your recovery.

      Take care

      Hi there,

How did the swimming go? I wish I could swim (I swim like a brick sadly sad) it's such good exercise.

Regarding your Q about being out of the woods, my surgeon told me it can take up to a year to feel 'back to normal' and for some a little longer, personally I felt great the day I came out of hospital and was spotted walking my 2 dogs (they didn't pull) that same afternoon, my neighbour screamed out the window at me, it was quite funny really, I'm not one for sitting around on my backside for too long but did promise to take things easy from then on as much as I could bear it.

      Take care

      Phoebe xx
