I had surgery Friday morning with general anesthesia and a nerve block, I had no pain up until Saturday at around 5 am when the nerve block began to wear off. Now I can't even walk to the barroom without feeling like my foot is going to explode. EXCRUCIATING PAIN!!!!!! when does this start to feel normal?!

It jolly well hurts doesn't it. I used to feel sick with the pain and my hair fell out with the shock of it all! I promise the pain will stop in a few weeks well it won't hurt so much anyway. My consultant told me it would be a bit uncomfortable .... really!! Don't panic it will ease. Just keep feet raised up it hurts less and heals quicker.

Yes it's almost unbearable! I've cried so many times because of frustrations and pain. Is the burning pain normal?

Yes I had scarf akin osteotomy. Left foot done last January. Right foot done last September. Those ops are up there with child birth. The pain is awful throbbing burning unbearable .... And then it starts to get better the swelling lasts for a long time so don't panic there.

Now me feet are completely better. No more swelling. No more pain. I can walk for miles without having to take painkillers. The pain is worth it, and they will take up to a year to properly heal. Don't panic

    Hi Meghan

Sorry for the late response, I am on day 11 and I'm still having a lot of swelling, my toes get really hot and tingle and for some reason at night the pain seems to get worse it keeps me from sleeping through the night. It's getting a little irritating but I'm very impatient so that doesn't help. The worst part is the sleepless nights forsure, when you are unable to get comfortable. Hope this helped.
