3 months after gallbladder surgery and still not well

Hello everyone, I am 3 months post op for having my gallbladder removed and I am feeling sicker than ever. I am nauseous and sick to my stomach, have no appetite, although I force myself to eat but its not much and eating makes me more nauseous, I am losing weight. I have no energy and I am very weak and tired. I feel lightheaded and dizzy. I've also been getting daily headaches, my vision is blurred. I have aches and pains throughout my body. I still get pain where the gallbladder used to be and across my abdomen. I had none of this before the surgery. I feel very alone dealing with this. I've had days where I just get through it and do ok but lately I feel myself slipping as it feels like things have gotten worse. I'm starting to feel sad and cry a lot. I just don't know how to stay strong sometimes, it's really hard to be strong when you feel so weak. I have some anxiety to that this may be how it is for me now. I am usually a cheerful and positive person but this is changing me. I don't know if I am doing what I need to to feel better. like am I eating enough, should I be taking any supplements or medicine to help me. I have tried some different meds and supplements but I feel they made me sicker. The doctors aren't much help as they only prescribe more meds. I don't want this to put me in a depression and I am fighting it. I do consider myself a strong person who has been through some things but I've never been sick like this every day for so long. I have had a number of tests and everything came back ok except they found a kidney and ovary cyst that will need looked again and watched. Something else for me to think about. Any advice on how others who have went through this would be appreciated or anything you found helped you or just let me know you made it through ok and are better would be helpful.

Well unfortunately you had bad but good results from the hida scan. Be sure to tell them about your symptoms, I guarantee you will be scheduled for surgery. My doctor told me that any symptoms during the test is part of it too. On top of my Gallbladder did not empty like ot was supposed to either. Good luck at your appointment hopefully they will schedule you soon for surgery.

well i just left the doctors office. i had to have bloodwork done that they didnt do at the ER. plus i have to have a MRI done. she said they will probably call me by the end of the week to schedule. she looked at the ultrasound and she said it looks like my duct is dialated so i could still have a stone stuck or sludge. i should have the lab results back in a few days and i go back to the GI doc next month. She also put me on Carafate. So i guess a step in the right direction. hopefully the Carafate can provide relief.

ok new update on me. i got a call from my GI doctor tonight. she said my lab tests came back and i have C Diff which is a infection of the colon. she believes that is causing all my problems. i did look it up and it can cause flu like symptoms. she called in a antibiotic that i have to pick up tomorrow and take that 3 times a day for the next couple of weeks. i pray that this is the problem and i will be feeling better soon. she did say to hold off on getting the MRI.

Your in my prayers Shannon. I hope you recover soon! I feel I have gotten sicker and been having flu like symptoms. Its worse in the morning, I wake up feeling like I have a fever but I don't, I'm very faint and shaking and with horrible nausea. I've also had bad diarrhea and can barely eat. What have your symptoms been? How do they test for C Diff?

diarrhea on and off. i even had that before the surgery. nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, heart races sometimes. mine is also worse in the mornings.

they have to test your poop (sorry if tmi) I would go back to your GI doctor and have them run tests with that being one of them. i was also screened for auto immuine disorders, celaic, chron's among other things which thank God those came back negative.

She did say that C Diff is contagous so until i get rid of it everything i touch has to be wiped down with bleach wipes. All my clothes has to be washed by themselves.

i pray i start feeling better soon, and i dont get any side effects from the antibiotic, and i pray that you find your answer soon Johnette.

she didnt say if she knew. i was dealing with the diarrhea and nausea before surgery so it could have been there and just got worse. maybe the surgery made it worse. i dont know.

i dont know what to do now. they called about my MRI and they dont bill people, i would have to pay upfront and its almost $2,000. i dont have insurance. the GI doctor said i needed this to see why my bile duct is still dialated. i feel so defeated right now.

The carafate is not working right now. i still feel very nauseous.
