3 months.... I’m so over this

To make a long story short I’ve had vaginitis and anal redness and soreness for 3 freaking months. No breaks. No medicine has worked. I’ve tried everything. Probiotics included, taking vitamin d, tried a diet change but didn’t stick with it. Worsens during my cycle near my period. Been diagnosed with BV and yeast or just one by 6 doctors. Had on and off hemmeroids. I have one right now that popped up randomly and now have a painful lump on my perineum too. I’m also now on birth control pills. The kind that you can have only 4 periods a year. I was recommended to take them to balance hormones out. Now I’m having breakthrough bleeding and itching on my vulva again. Last doctors visit they did a test to see what bacteria and what yeast was still causing me problems... the result was: NOTHING. They didn’t find anything. Wow. So I’m sitting here with an itchy, red, irritated vulva and now anus for 3 months and I DID have bv and Yeast and it even smells like bv but they said I don’t have it now? The symptoms won’t go away though? I’m about to seriously off myself I’m so over this. I went throubh anxiety attacks over this because I can’t escape it no matter what I do. Ive been also now using boric acid 3 times a week with no improvement. I don’t know what to do anymore

Hi Chelsea. You may have had yeast and / or bv infections but it may have evolved into something else. I had repeated and persistent thrush infections for 5 months. In the end I stopped all treatments - prescribed and home remedies. I think they were just making me worse, upsetting my internal balance. You need to come off everything, hormones too and get back to your normal balance. Everything the drs are giving you is just swinging your balance back and forth. I did that and used only natural products -  vitD to balance hormones, coconut oil on and in my vagina (I found it soothing and it has anti fungal, anti viral and antibiotic properties. You can look up other natural remedies such as herbs to balance your hormones. See how the at goes. I still had burning pain which turned out to be vulvodynia - caused by the constant infection, hormonal inbalance due to menopause and use of home remedies (never again!). You may also have vulvodynia- you can test by touching around your vulva with a cotton bud - if you register touch as pain then your nerves are overactive and hypersensitive, which is vulvodynia.

The good news is that vulvodynia can be cured (despite what you might read on the doom and gloom internet). I started a post “How I cured my vulvodynia”, other women have posted their success stories on there too.

I know just how you feel - it's a total bummer. Take a look at vulvar lichen support group - it's on Facebook although you might be able to just google it
