3 Months post-op ACL and meniscus tear

Hi guys, so Ive been a little worried for a long time now. I got my surgery done july 10th, and was not allowed any physio for 6 weeks. When i got the physio that i was suppose to get they didn't do a lot and my knee only bent like 80 degrees and extension was still lacking (came in with 70 degrees bend ).... But after it i started working on it myself but now its been 3 months almost and my knee only bends 90 degrees, I will try to go doctors and get more physio somehow but what exercises should i do to really improve the bend ? the extension is lacking as well but I'm not that worried about it... I feel like I'm the only one who improved so little, but is there still a chance of me regaining full motion?

There's a forum called bonesmart that you might be interested in. There are people on there who have had no formal physio and have an excellent range of movement, one being an ex nurse who specialized in hip and knee replacements. They don't dismiss physio as such, but say you can get as good a result for a good range of movement by doing your normal daily activities, walking, stairs, household, chores etc.

i felt happier doing some exercises, but nothing that caused pain. For extension put a rolled towel at the back of your knee, tighten your quads and lift the lower leg pressing the knee into the towel. When that gets easy replace towel with a roll of refuse sacks. For bend keep practising heel slides back as far as you can and hold in position for 20-30 seconds, use stairs foot over foot, stationary bike if you have one with seat as high as possible and lower seat as it gets easier, also stand sideways to bed with knee on bed and position other leg close to bed with knees as close together as possible, like the quad stretching exercise. Tighten abs and buttocks without arching back and hold for up to 30 seconds. Only do anything that causes discomfort, not pain, and build up times and repititions slowly. If you suffer for it later, back off for a while and try again. Good luck.
