3 weeks in and feeling horrendous

Posted , 2 users are following.

So after a rough 3 weeks on Sertraline I saw the doctor yesterday and I have now increased the dose to 75mg from 50mg as from today and I have had a shocking day. The 3 weeks has been quite hard, although i felt like it was getting slightly better and i was starting to get more days where i was feeling 'ok', however..

My anxiety today is at its worst, literally feel like i have been on the verge of a panic attack all day (feel shakey, heart beating iregular since i woke up and i cant seem to focus on anything mentally or look at anything without straining) Went to speak to someone earlier about something I thought they discussed with me last night however they were completly confused, and they had no idea what i was talking about - it was horrible to feel that way and i felt like i was going mad (my memory is usually very good) + that has never happened before, im only 23. Im sure tomorrow will be a better day and its because i have upped the dose... but has anyone else felt like that 3 weeks in or when they upped the dose?

+ please can I hear some recommendations of what time to take the medicine and hear what works for some of you guys. Im currently taking them anywhere between 11am and 3pm, maybe early in the morning would be better or before bed? Thanks guys

And does this stuff possibly cause balding? getting all paranoid about that as well now haha

Sertraline can disrupt your sleep pattern if you take it before bed. I do take it then because I also take clonazepam which knocks me out !

The best people to talk about what time of day to take it to suit you is a pharmacist, they know how long it last in your system and when it peaks etc. Hope that helps, ps I've been on 50 mg for approx 18 mths, seems to be ok at that strength not sure why GP' s increase dosages so soon when your body and mind I trying to adjust 😳

Oh and it hasn't changed my hair in any way. Hope that is of some help, good luck

Hi there, ive not upped my dose so been on 50mgs for 4 weeks now and to be honest i dont feel bad i just dont feel anything at all. But saying that today has not been so bad ive been out and about and made a few conversations which i wouldnt of done 4 weeks ago. Im also taking propananlol 40mg to help the nervousness. Still shakeing like crazy if i eat sweets or chocolate or anything with a buzz and this lasts all day so im hoping withing this next week or 2 that the shaking and nervousness fade away so i can feel happy around people and not want to run away. My mood has been very good today felt like running down the street instead of holding my head down and wanting to go home. Hopefully this is a start of something good

Glad to hear that it is helping Scott! I also got prescribed some propananol but need to go and collect it! Has it Helped?

Yeah I am shaking alot as well, and quivering LoL. To be honest the day I posted that was horrendous but the last couple of days have been better. Must have been the increase of 25 mg's which caused it.

How do you feel when you wake up and what time are you taking it Scott?

Yeah propanalol helps massively, what dose you been prescribed of that? Ive searched and searched peoples experiences on sertraline. And to be honest its very mixed to say but ive found alot more people tend to say that honestly they never felt it working till around 6 to 8 weeks. If they was feeling good it might of been that the side effects had worn off and made them feel more at ease that way but others felt it work on the 3rd week. Just my personal experiance never had side effects to much degree and just been waiting patiently im going to up my dose in 2 to 3 weeks if im still not 80% or 100%.

P.s ive not had one single panic attack while ive been taking propanalol and i lve been taking that for 3 months. Massive help with physical symptoms but need the sertraline to work on the mind while i get used to dealing with just the sertraline. Will pop back in a few weeks to see how its going.

      Take care

      Scott
