Mike.. This how i was a few months back, once the anxiety eased, the low mood came to front.. I never had got this before. It will get better and you seem to moving at a good speed. Just take care of yourself over the next few weeks, walks, talk to friends, massages if you can, gym if your up to it.. all of these will be a struggle but will help. Good luck buddy.. You got this..

Hi Mike! Just wanted to let you know youre not alone. Far from it! Adjusting to this med is up there with the top hardest things Ive been through. And it can be an arduous process... For me I noticed results gradually but every time I increased my dose I encountered rough patches all over. I was on 10mg for 2 wks, then 15mg for 5 weeks and then finally bumped up to 20mg and saw a dramatic improvement after a week at 20. You might get there a lot quicker than me because youre starting faster. The important thing is that youve made a lot of progress and relief should come if you hang in there! Im sorry it takes so long! I got sick with Covid right as I was feeling better and that set me back. Terrible timing.... so theres always those kinds of things to consider. Best of luck to you!

Hi mike. If I had a £ for every time I've heard "Is this normal" or "When will I be normal again?" I"d be a rich man. If I was Minister of mental health I'd take all such issues away from doctors and set up a dedicated mental health team where an honest approach to patients was taken. That means telling people, especially anxiety sufferers like us, exactly what you could and probably will endure for the next few months, and help and support along the way. That would be great. Unfortunately that's not the case, and you're left to wonder and suffer on your own and search desperately for sites like this just to know you're not going through it on your own. I've been through it many many times over 30 years, before the internet when you really were on your own, and I've got through it by telling myself the old bodybuilding mantra,No pain No gain. The truth is,for around 11-12 weeks you will experience heightened anxiety, low moods, feel emotional, lethargic and generally feel terrible until everything starts to settle. Acceptance is the key to getting through those few months, along with pure determination. Eventually you will very slowly start to feel more like yourself. I can also honestly tell you from a lifetime of anxiety and taking antidepressants that they are not a 100% cure, and should be not solely relied on to cure your anxiety completely. If you do,you will relapse every time you stop taking them as I have, and many others have. Working on your negative, anxious thoughts and habits, worrying, what ifs etc is even more important by doing CBT and mindfulness and getting rid of anxiety for good. Good luck.
