3 weeks post op rotator cuff+bankart repair| colour changes and swelling in hand?

I'm just around 3 weeks post op of a laparoscopic rotator cuff and bankart repair. Was able to take it out of the sling for dressing and showering after a week, and during my first shower noticed basically my entire arm swell, turn purple, and lost feeling in my fingers. Put it back in the sling and all went back to normal so thought it might be a one time thing.

Unfortunately after my next shower it did the same thing, and my pain increased ten fold! Worse than my original post op pain! Went to the ER to get it checked out and the doctor said it was just my nerves adjusting to surgery. Because when it's in the sling, asides from the awful pain, it's fine circulation wise.

I'm wondering if maybe I should go in for a second opinion. It feels a whole lot like when i subluxed it all the time before surgery. But I live so far away from the surgeon I don't want to go all the way there if it is nothing. Should I go in anyway?

You should keep your arm in the sling for 4 weeks. You just had major surgery. It will take 6 months to a year to heal. Take it easy, try not to have it out of the sling. Patience is really needed with this surgery.
