3 weeks post op THR and feeling good.

Trained in my home gym 3 times this week and cycled 3 times also on top of the usual leg and ass strengthening exercises. Mind you this scar is a bit tender . Decided to try the Boots scar softening cream to see how it goes . Physio advised to get all muscles strengthened and equal before I start gentle running .

hi glad to hear your doing well too as it seems there is a very mixed bag of stories to tell on here . TBH I only used crutches to come out of hospital and then discarded for stick and off everything for nearly two weeks now. it's one of those that you dont want to say how well your doing as others are not. got my op through BUPA so physio was included I went for first one the other day and was mainly to discuss getting back to bit of running and advise how to equalise muscle strength in legs

yes agree with u , have read some horror stories from people who have had bad experiences

my goal is to walk without any aids when i get to four weeks aids post op.

i turned down my op at 68 as couldnt face the recovery but had to go ahead at 72 as pain too bad.

had my op on NHS in a private hospital under the choose and book scheme . Can only speak very highly of my surgeon who used the mako robotic system which is very precise

      hi Jennifer

I couldn't fault the service I got it was like five star. I know I'm at the younger end of scale for the op at 52 . I didn't realise they use robotics for the surgery and I must admit although I had the spinal I didn't want to be lucid to know .
