3 X-Rays say mechanics ok but...

10 Months since THR left.

Persistent pain increasing. Pain in following areas:

  1. Imagine making your hand into a fist and placing at the top of your bottom, right there where you feel your hip from the buttocks. Constant ache, throbbing - more than a niggle and a small pocket of swelling.
  2. Pain radiating down the side of the buttock, hip & thigh.
  3. Groin pain on the increase.
  4. Minor clicking of joint last 2 weeks but noted.

3 X-Rays in 10 months, last one November 2022, so a couple of months since the last and the feedback - the mechanics are as they should be.

I explained the pain, was given a minor examination and an ultrasound appointment made which was 31 December 2022. Awaiting feedback and an appointment to see the Consultant in February, which I presume, is the follow-up of the ultrasound.

I'm feeling quite anxious now as pain is worsening.

Reaching out to see if there are similar experiences of these types of symptoms within the time period mentioned? Or, even over greater time periods to have some feedback on the symptoms listed.

I've read up on Greater trochanteric pain syndrome and Bursitis, rather than any conversation with a Consultant in these short appointments and tried to stick with these ailments being the culprit but collectively, the pain and general feel is more like the joint and possibly the alignment of the joint.

Thanks for reading.

#1 ask about a nuclear mri and #2 this is a big one ask to test for heavy metals in -blood. if metals are registered in the blood even though xrays dont show anything, this means there is issues./ injury. these Thr metals can frey from rubbing and cause pseudo tumors causing pain and other issues. ask for heavy metal blood test very important. then repeat every 6 months for level comparison to last test.

however... there is short term healing -when your walking on your own , driving, have good arch supports in new shoes. old shoes are worn with the injured hip gate. new shoes arch support and practice good even walking gate.

then there is - long term healing- soft tissues surrounding the joint, and the femur area take up to 2 years to fully recover. this is also taken care of just by walking nothing special is needed for healing.

what you describe could be a size issue with the ball joint . the clicking could mean tissue /tendon is rubbing against the cup or ball joint . be positive and ask for a copy of your op report find out the make model and all components used and the surgical procedures. look them all up online get a clear picture .

it's extremely important for you to be your own advocate. sending healing vibes your way,
