36 Years old with slapped cheeks

I started with a rash on my arms and stomach on tuesday night. I awoke Wednesday morning to find my body covered with the rash. Later that day it spread to my neck and face. My joints were aching and I felt unwell. The rash faded after a couple of days but my joint pain was agony and still is 3 days on. My GP sent me for a blood test to confirm parvo virus. My five year olf step daughter also has develped the virus, however her symtoms are much milder, thank goodness. She has a rash on her cheeks, which spread to her body but is now disappearing. She has had no other symtoms. Are there any other adults out there who has suffered with this?

I too have this virus, I first noticed a rash all over my body when i woke in the morning everywhere that is except for my face. The rash started to fade away after 2 days but found that most of my joints,Shoulders, Ankles, Knees, Wrists and also my neck where in quite a lot of pain as well as feeling quite unwell and tired. I called my GP who said that he suspected i had (slap cheek) and should last only for about 1 week. I must admit that the pain has faded a bit,but tiredness is still with me, I just hope that it doesnt last for 5 weeks which i have read on a previous post. I am normally a fit and healthy 40 year old but this disease makes you feel old and fragile. I have a 6 year old daughter and she has just contracted this disease, but other than a rash on her cheeks she seems healthy enough.

I was diagnosed with slap cheek earlier this evening. I went to bed last night with flu-type symptoms; sore throat, headache, achey joints, shivers, etc. When I awoke this morning, I had a pink rash all over my body, up my neck and on my face. My eyes were also slightly puffy. It was as though I had been on a sunbed and I put it down to the electric blanket! I only went to the doctors because I also had swollen and painful tonsills which I knew from past experience I would need antibiotics to clear up. She took one look at me, felt my cheek and said \"you've got slap cheek!\". She prescribed Penicillin for my tonsills but there's no cure for slap cheek, just got to let it run its course.
