hi all,
I am a bit scared. i have been diagnosed with fibrosis of the liver (fibroscan result of 9). I do not drink at all, but I do have blood sugar problems (metabolic syndrome). I am assuming I need lower carb or low carb diet and exercise, but I have no clue where to start. I find lots of conflicting info online. I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and if you have had any luck revesing or halting the progression of the fibrosis?
i am scared and only have a young daughter whom i hope i will see grow up.
thank you

I have been diagnosed with the same, 3 weeks ago 9.1 reading on fibroscan , have been worried like you,I felt so bad I couldn't sleep.
I have started to diet I have lost 6lb in the last 3 weeks since diagnosed.
I have never drank but have a sweet tooth and been on a lot of different tablets due to other medical conditions.
I try to take a walk every day. I do feel better ,I had discomfort on my right side of my stomach. But since losing weight it's much better.I have been told and have read that the liver can repair itself.
the liver foundation is really helpful so is this site.
please don't make yourself worse with worry go see your gp and ask him/ her to explain everything to you.
I have another app at hospital in 2 weeks.
I do hope you are ok, please be positive and think yourself well, I'm doing the same.

I was asked to lose some weight I was 9st 7 lb. I have lost 7ib in 4 weeks.
Today the fibroscan was repeated and was 7.01 it had gone down,I was so pleased.
I had some more bloods done and will get the results in 2 weeks.if bloods are ok I will only need to go to hospital 1 a year, if something is not right with my bloods results I will have to have a biopsy.
I was really suprised that losing 7lb could make such a difference.
I have cut sugar and salt out of my diet, I'm eating more fruit and veg.also I go for a walk everyday.
I hope this will help.
