Hi can totally sympathise was terrified about the same thing when when we went on holiday earlier this year .... I opted for an early flight so didn't want / have to eat and then dosed up on Imodium day of travel and day prior to. Try not to worry as if you are anything like me that makes mt stomach 100 times worse. We were located next to toilets on our flight which was annoying constant coming and going of people but was reassuring that it was right there if needed.

After a near miss on a motorway after seeing slow down signs I left the motorway, joined another and just made it to the services. The idea of flying and having only one or two small loos is never going to happen. At least at the services there are many to choose from.

Take Imodium if your worried and only eat plain foods the day before.

Don't worry, it will make your symtoms worse. I went to France by boat  the day after my iBS diagnosis.  We had our own car with us to do sight seeing when we got there.  At that time I had IBS A and was going through a phase of loose, urgent stools.  I had Buscopan for the pain which had calmed down a lot after finding our what was wrong with me.  The loose stools were not much of a problem either.  In fact it was a relief after the constipation I had been battling beforehand.  I didn't take anything for my loose bowel. That was in 2015.

This year in Italy, I had IBS A again for three days.  Codeine slowed down my diarrhoea initially and I was able to walk a mile and a half down the beach and swim as usual with no problems.  However, it didn't stop it completely so I took Imodium for one day after meals and that stopped it.  I stayed off fruit for a week to settle my bowel and gradually reintroduced it.  Although I didn't feel great, I told myself that I wasn't going to let IBS spoil even a minute of my holiday and I just carried on as normal as if nothing was wrong.

I bought the Imodium  instants are they good??? And when should I start taking them

Imodium instants work just as well as the tablets you take with water. The only difference is you don't need a drink to swallow them so they are easier to take than the normal variety especially if you struggle with swallowing tablets. You can take them to prevent you getting diarrhoea or to stop it when it comes on.

Thanks ever so much! I test tried the tablets and they've been amazing! Granted they've made me a little constipated but would take this over diarrhoea any day

If you get constipated, reintroduce fruit gradually.
