ven definitely takes longer to work. 10 weeks until i noticed first improvement in depression. i think its because people who take ven, mirt or cymb are usually in a much worse position, than someone taking an ssri. worse state, means longer to recover. i think you were on mirt previously, what dose did you get up to, for how long, and why did you come off it? will give me a good idea of what ven dose you will likely need.

hi nigel, no i was on zoloft and wellbutrin about a year ago. i had gotten sober and took myself off the meds to see id i needed them, big mistake. Zoloft did make ne feel a bit like a zombie so we are trying ven.

ive been 1 week on 37.5, 2 weeks on 75, 4 weeks on 150. i also take 150mg of wellbutrin

okay, sorry about that. doses and meds are a reasonable indicator of how bad things are. i take 225mg of ven, and 22.5mg of mirt now. we probably got in similar states. mine did take 10 weeks, for first signs of improvements that i felt. people around me noticed improvements start around 5 to 6 weeks. if you can, try to get feedback from people around you, as they will notice signs much earlier.

i am so glad the current group of people on here on 150mg of ven are starting experiencing improvements. you must get a lot of reassurance from this. ven takes ages to work. you can expect further improvements up to 12 weeks and more. from reading on patient you will all realise how difficult it is getting established on ven. its worth giving it every opportunity to work, as if it does work, it works well, with few side effects. for those that dont get sufficient improvement, either on 150 for mainly anxiety, or 225mg for depression, then consider having 7.5mg up to 22.5mg of mirtazapine added. the combo works very well. having been up to 337.5mg of ven only, i had mirt added, and the improvement was dramatic. im now on 225mg of ven, with 22.5mg of mirt. ven has a flaw in it above 225mg, and if you find you need higher than 225mg, i think most people will find having mirt added, will give a much more complete and satisfactory recovery, than going higher then ven only. ven isnt easy, and its not for everyone, but give it a chance.
