Hi

I started sertraline back in 2017 for panic disorder. I was on a health kick and was feeling great within myself . So I decided to ween myself of sertraline over the space of 6months. Everything was good until I got lower back injury and couldn’t train etc, felt low and no drive. Before I know it the panic and anxiety was back worse than ever. So i started back on 50mg and felt good for the first week and a bit, then BANG anxiety and panic went through the roof most awful feeling hangs over me. I phoned my GP and they upped my dosage to 100mg. Only 4 days on 100mg and I feel awful. I am going to try and keeping fighting through it. I don’t remember feeling this bad back when I started this medication in 2017. Trying to stay postive and stick with it. Can anyone relate and give me hope it would be much Appreciated.

    hi ian ,

sorry to hear how your feeling, if you search under my name you will see i had the same issue, i started 50 mg and was better, albeit marginally, then i followed doctors instruction and went to 100mg...oh my i lasted two days and hit a wall, intrusive thoughts, low moods, panic attacks. i went back to 50's for the next three weeks, then onto 75mgs, i cant say i feel great, anxiety has subsided, but low moods remain on and off. i am going by what so many on here have said and riding it out the best i can.

to add to all this i ended up on sertraline after being on citalopram for 15 years, trouble free, then i had a really bad in work and broke down, doc tried to ween me off citalopram before telling me to start them again, max dosage but they had no effect second time round.

sorry i cant offer any more assistance, just wanted to reassure you that it also happened to me and it does settle.
