4 weeks of reduced meds and old symptoms back

I'm really angry but that's probably my thyroid as well. After about 4 weeks of feeling great my endo reduced my meds by 5mg of carbimazole. All seemed fine for a few weeks then I started getting a sickly feeling a few times each day. Thought nothing of it then pain in my coxix bone, followed by joint discomfort getting out of bed, not feeling refreshed, then sickly feeling all day!!!

At this point (after 4 weeks on reduced meds) I had blood tests done as I know what my levels where when I felt great so this is my benchmark.

The next day I went from struggling to get out of bed to sleeping all day after going for a 'bit of a kip'!! Three days later which is today, I now have sweats, palpitations, chest pains, raised heart rate, feel completely s**t - basically back to where I was before.

I'm really frustrated as I thought I'd worked it out. I did start taking the extra 5mg of carbimazole each day from Thursday and I'll get my results tomorrow but I can't imagine that they haven't gone back up. I didn't need anybody to tell me they where right as I suddenly felt wonderfull!! Now that I know that feeling, I want it back - desperately!!!

Does anyone else just want to rant?

    Hi Shaz,

I've talked to you before on this forum - although ages ago. I've just posted a new message as I cannot get rid of my fat!! I wonder if it was due to the Carbimazole.

You sound as if you haven't recovered. I have had a good stint and my levels are in the 'normal range' - I am on 5mg a day. But I still can't get fit, exercise knackers me and I have put sooooo much weight on that I can't shift.

Someone else I met through the forum is now off Carbimazole and I saw her last week and she was 'over' again, although all bloods normal! How can this be? She had a tremor and had lost weight.

It's not fair is it? Hang on in there and keep on at your endo/GP if you're not happy.

    Hi Kay

Nice to see you chatting here again. Lunch was great. Don't worry too much about the weight you looked great and I'm sure it will come off once you start to do more activity.

Gp was great he really liked the action plan. Back to endo, when get appointment. Came here to look up about radioiodine and ask for experiences. By the way had no bloods since April Gp did mention it but then he forgot and so did I. I was in his room for half an hour!!!!. Not going back yet as really don't want to know what my bloods are in case they want to put me back on carbimazole.

I'd give anything to feel normal.

Shaz how did it go for you with blood results. I'm told it can take a while to sort.

    Take care
