Hey, there is an excellent FB site (Efferox…) that offers a lot of information and help.

I came to the conclusion that it is not worth taking this madication experiencing so many side effects and started reducing from 75 to 37.5 today.

I can´t really reply to your particular problem of "not being in this world" but experience a "fluffy brain", headaches, insomnia, weird dreams, feeling really tired, too warm body, etc. etc.

The point is that the side effects don't just come as a "side" - they are having a big effect and influence in your life - right? And most probably they will not go away (none of my so called side effects disappeared) so you have to ask yourself if you are willing to live with them or rather deal with the root causes of your depression, anxiety or whatever you are taking the medication for.

This drug is highly poisenous to the body and has the most horrible withdrawl symptoms. The longer they are taken, the worst.

I have decided to get off venlafaxine at present reducing to 37.5 a day, hopefully not taking any medication at all soon and I am willing to deal with whatever comes up.

It's a very personal decision, really, nobody can tell you and you have to find out for yourself what feels best for you, but writing here and getting support from others through this exchange I found very valuable...

All the best for you and keep coming out!

My guess is that in 2 weeks or less you’ll feel noticeably better. In my experience with antidepressants if they make you feel that way in the very beginning, they are probably going to work ...just takes awhile for it to even out, then it can come upon suddenly and you feel the good effects. I say give it another 2-3 weeks and if it still doesn’t get better, talk to your doctor. I know it’s hard, though when you feel so bad.
