Around the 5wk mark the sutures tighten so you get more pain than maybe previously, but having an infection might delay that happening yet as they won't be healing while infection present. You've had extensive surgery so not surprising you're feeling what you are. It's a long very slow road to recovery even without infection, and quite unexpected by most who opt for the repairs. I can say that even only with my anterior repair and TOP (mesh sling) that it was really a full 10mths until I could comfortably say I hardly notice anything amiss down there now. And I wasn't even seriously prolapsed prior to surgery. Just didn't want to wait till that point and face more difficult repair because I had let it get so prolapsed. It's major surgery. But convincing others when you've got nothing to show others, is hard. Plus who wants to talk about that region to others close to you, let alone keep batting on about it. SO, in steps this forum where you can share what you like to lots of others who have been through it too!

Yes, because you've had an infection too. Stitches don't dissolve very fast. Some deep ones can still be there at 8wks onwards. Yours will be delayed due to infection as you won't have been healing much at all while infection present.
