4 weeks post anterior repair advise please

Posted , 2 users are following.

I am now 4 weeks post op & have had a heavy dragging feeling down there but towards the back wall. I am beside myself with worry that the surgery has not worked or that I have a posterior prolapse. My surgeon had mentioned a very slight posterior prolapse prior to booking me in for the anterior surgery. But did not feel the need to operate on it. Could I be prolapsing?

Hi hun,the only way of knowing is to get him to examine you..its very early days, I'm ,17 days post op for anterior and I have a feeling of a tampon stuck.its the stitches I can feel I think.just remember we have anoithet cut where the repair had been done, then the wound sewn up.

I had to have an exam yesterday because I was worried. All was fine and as it should be.I am still doing nothing, and taking it really slow, hope you have too.The only easy to quash your worries is to get him to look ast you.go back to his secretary and tell Gert you are concerned. Are you in uk hun?

Don't worry all will be fine.no lifting or bending. My consultant said to me.. P P F. Push pull fatigue. Your body will tell you if yuiur doing something you should nt be.😘😘

Thank you so much welshgirl67 😘. I have now made an appointment to see my surgeon on Monday. I think I am doing too much. I have been walking quite a bit & even doing some cooking & tiding around the house. Im a it of a clean freak 😁😁😁.

I have also been looking down there with a mirror & I think I need to stop that too!

Not in the uk in oz & so glad I have came across this forum. Your words were very comforting knowing others were also concerned. I was beginning to think I was becoming a hypochondriac.

Wishing you a speedy recovery xxx

I've moved the hand mirror out of my ensuite! As for the snakes... I am so scared of them too.

It feels like doctors don't give you enough information about what it's going to feel like post op.

Yeah definitely feels like there is something there. Sort of like before the surgery. My friend's a nurse & she keeps saying its swelling but I thought it should have gone down my now. I think I'm starting to feel the stitches drying out now. It feels really raw, like it's been scratched. I was feeling so much better last week & this week it has felt like ive regressed.

My consultant told me the my stitches are still healing but not much swelling.

We need to stop over thinking and give our body time to heal.. I'm guilty of that one hun.x
