4 weeks Post Bunion and hammertoe surgery

Hi. I am currently at nearly 5 weeks recovery for bunion and hammertoe surgery.

I haven't had much advice with regard to PT . I wasn't advised on when I was able to weight bear. At my 4 week appointment to have the pin removed, my surgeon asked why I wasn't weight bearing & didn't the Physio say post op that I could a couple of weeks in? No!

I've noticed that my very stiff big toe has moved in slightly , towards the 2nd toe (might this be my fault? For a couple of days I wore sports socks, tighter than my slouch socks )

I have read so many articles and watched other patient journeys on tube. Discovering that some were advised to wear a gel toe spacer or a splint & to move/exercise the toes. I could've avoided this had I been better advised. My question to you is, have any of you experienced these issues and if so, please may I get some guidance. I must add that my surgery was at a private hospital but NHS funded, therefore its impossible to contact the surgeon on this matter.

Thank you in advance.

toe spacers or toe pillows are available at drug stores. very soft pliable easy to place between big toe and second toe.
