4 weeks post op

So I'm 33. Had to get a hysterectomy, I kept my ovaries. I'm 4 weeks post op. Some days are good and some days are bad. I have had really low energy. Still having abdominal pain sometimes it mimics period cramps but the worst ones. So far so good. Trying to still rest but I have gone back to doing housework. Sometimes I look down and think wow the swelling in my tummy is goin down but then it swells right back up. There is alit of frustrations to deal with during this healing time so be strong and patient.

I'm 6 weeks post op. Only thing kept was my cervix. The difference I have felt between 4 weeks and now! I was still quite down in the dumps at 4 weeks, then I noticed I felt more mobile and had increased energy. I'm now not far off my old walking speed, definitely not the geriatric speed I had been doing although later in the day it will slow down so I tend to do my walk first thing in the morning.
I don't think I have noticed a tremendous difference in the amount of swelling over the last couple of weeks, it's still considerable, but definitely greater as the day goes on. I would say that I'm one to two sizes larger around my abdomen at the mo so I'm loving loose and elasticated, everything that was too big for me before lol. I used to get some pains at 4 weeks, but not as bad as the worst period pains, maybe you're doing to much. I found that if I overdid it, the following day was worse.
if you can, have someone else do the housework, and just stick to washing up etc, real easy stuff.
Hold in there, rest up, be patient hard as it is, and if you need reassurance, get hold of your Gyno or GP.
i was told at my 6 week check up, that the swelling would gradually reduce, and that although my wounds were healed, my tissue needed time to recover. I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that we can be waiting some time for the swelling to go.
All the very best with your recovery.

You've had major surgery! My doctor's office told me no housework or lifting for 6 weeks. Believe me, it will wait for you. Internally it can take 8 weeks or longer for your body to heal. You have this one chance to heal your body, please give it the rest and support it needs.

Thanks. I am over doing it but I am very hard headed. I'm the type that no one can clean like I like it. I'm OCD bout cleanliness so it is really hard to see something and not clean it. But I will keep reminding myself to slow down
