4 weeks post op

Hi . Just looking for anyone else's experiences. I'm 4 weeks after a laparoscopy. I've had a nightmare with it. Belly button incision became infected, spent a night in hospital, they did a ct scan and blood tests and all came back clear. I've had to do 2 courses of antibiotics and go to nurse everyday to dress it and it's finally starting to heal. My stomach is still very tender and bloated. It's not overly painful but do need to sometimes take paracetamol to help. I woke up tonight with it quite painful and having serious night sweats. I'm also getting stingy pains on and off mostly around my stomach area. I also have fibromyalgia and in the middle of a flare up . Im not due back to surgeon until next Tuesday so although I know they found endometriosis and removed tissue, I've no idea of what stage. Anyone's experience after their lap would be appreciated. I'm also two days late with my period and wondering if this is normal?

Thanks in advance x

I’m 4 week’s post op too ...my stomach is still tender, my scars are quite painful sometimes and from time to time I get this feeling like when you had a really good ab workout and know that you’ll be very sore the next day (i don’t know if that makes sense lol) ...I experienced a lot of night sweats during the first two weeks, still get them but not as often or if I do they pass quicker... for the period this I don’t have much to say, I’m actually starting my period today which is 4 days earlier than expected (I got my last period 2 days after the surgery) but the pain is bad already so I don’t want to imagine how is it going to be tomorrow which is usually the hardest day.

Hope you start feeling better, hugs

    Hi Both,

I hope you don't mind me picking your brains, my wife is due a full Hysterectomy to be done beginning of December after years of suffering with Endometriosis. I'm getting a bit nervous now with it approaching so fast and its starting to seem a really big op now,

I was reading on here just to get a feel for whether others have had similar and got through the other side / never looked back.

Until now we have fully relied on the specialist to steer us, now that you are both a few months post op would your say its been a success

Again sorry for joining your chat appreciate its a bit weird with me being a man but I don't really have anyone else to discuss with, I don't want to talk too much with my wife and make her more nervous.

    Hope your both well

    P
