    Hi Lynn

I had rectocele and cystocele repair and was checked by my specialist at 6 weeks and advised to wait till 8 weeks before having sex. I didn't have any symptoms that u r describing tho.

Don’t be rushed into having sex until you’re ready, it’s your body, not your husband’s or the doctors that’s given the green light!

When YOU are ready, YOU give the green light!

It's very coming to feel heaviness after repairs of front and back.

My consultant told me it's a reminder that long holds while doing pelvic floor is very important..

Also I feel 4 wks is way to early for sex .. For me it took months to build up confidence.I still had stitches at 8 wks.

      “You have to start soon”?!!!

What an outrageously sexist thing to say!! There’s absolutely no rush fgs,  I hope a female Doc would have a different view but then again a male doctor should be more professional than to say that!!

My thoughts exactly it must be a male thing ,he is a good dr but believe you me my body is not ready for that right now i don't care what dr says when I'm ready is when I'm ready!

I'm sorry to hear that your having such a horrible time, and yes I've also had bladder and bowel surgery unfortunately it was so drastic that intercourse is not possible, but that feeling you get is quite normal and when your ready to have intercourse it should only be when your ready,it is frightening,I felt the same after my hysterectomy,I'm sure you husband is very supportive, have a lovely relaxing bath and don't be pressured into anything take your time, tell your husband how you feel, some times it's good to talk about it and just have a cuddle.

Hi, let's face it,if it was a man that had any kind of surgery,do you think that they would still be so keen to get back to it,somehow I don't think so lol.

I’m 3 weeks post hysterectomy and posterior repair. I get a very heavy falling out feeling , not sure if that is the same thing you are feeling. I’ve started to do pelvic floor exercises on and off but they are very very weak. As for having intercourse - definitely no where near even contemplating that. How insensitive of your consultant. It might be worth seeing your gp just for a bit of reassurance. X x
