Hi fellow hippies

i am off back to hospital tomorrow  for an emergency appointment with my surgeon. I am 4 weeks post op yesterday ( Feb 16 th )

and part of my wound is oozing yellow stuff. It is still quite sore the whole length down too. It was never like this the first time. The first time I asked for melting stitches and never had an issue. This time they put 64 staples in me and I end up with an infection. rolleyes

I will keep you posted on what happens tomorrow.

Hop op all are healing well

Fabulous news Hailea, I'm glad it was nothing too nasty.  That sounds a bit like my sewing cheesygrin

Hi everyone. Just been back to see my surgeon all is ok with the wound. All healed up no more dressings but they sent me home with a couple just in case. I see my surgeon for my 6 week check on March 10 th ( 2 weeks today )  I am hoping all is ok by then to ditch the leg brace. It is so restricting  and both my old new hip leg and my new hip leg are so sore and stiff I feel like he did both of them and I am at the starting line again.

Any way way will keep you posted on what happens in a couple of weeks. If they say all is ok the physio terrorists get there hands on me. At least they will be the same ones that saw me on the ward. So will know what I have been through.

      Good morning darling

So happy for you that that is taken care of !

I think it IS going back to start after 2nd THR surgery ... You have been through the mill - in pain, unable to move, were immobile for a long time - I feel this way too and I didn't go through all what you went through -

how are you doing otherwise? being a moderator is probably keeping you busy !!!

      take care -

      big warm hug

      Hello Renee

hope you are well. Thank you.

I think I have got stiff because this brace is restricting me. I was advised not to do the pysio. But try to walk as often as I can. The way they have fitted this brace still does not feel right but I only have a another week from Tuesday to see if I can ditch that. I can ditch the TED stockings this coming Tuesday so that is one less annoying thing to have to put up with. You know how much I hated the flipping things last time. These will again be cremated in the fire pit of hell in the back  garden. Can't wait. cheesygrin

I have to say I am really struggling this time. When I had the left hip done I was up and walking quite well as soon as I got home. This time. I have only managed about 100 meters at 5 weeks post op. I still can't put my right foot flat on the floor  I just feel so frustrated that this is going so slow this time.

Once I am able to take the brace off I will take a photo of it to post on here so everyone can see what I have had to wear. The thing weighs 5 kg so it is heavy also. I think this is the reason I can't walk far. It is so restricting. In my movements and the pace I can go. I can't stride out properly which I feel is halting my progress also. I even have to wear the thing in bed which is causing problems with my back and skin. . So at night I do take it off. Sleep is hard enough to get these days without having to wear that thing 24/7

other than that. I am glad I didn't have an infection. It is all healed up. Just a few big scabs to fall off now.

The he place I am a MOD has its really busy times and a few quiet times. Every day is different. Some times I get time to come and check out posts over here. But some times I get no time at all. It would be great if the world didn't have internet trolls or spammers. Other than the odd disagreement there would be no need for. MODs. It is a thankless job. But some one has to do it. lol

I'm OK renee. Thanks for asking. Just a bit frustrated at the pace I am healing. X
