40mg of celexa

I had been on celexa for the better part of 20 years. I switched to wellbutrin to assist in losing weight, was on weight watchers. about 4 months later i had a mild stroke. i read a study that stroke can mess with your brain chemicals. started on 20mg of celexa and stopped the welbutrin. about 4 months later had some break through anxiety and depression. the doctor wanted me to go to 40mg but was afraid of side effects. i got to 30mg by going 5mg at a time. now six months later I have little motivation for things i use to love. I have worked my way up to 40mg. i guess what im asking is does 40mg make a significant difference and how long does take to feel improvement?

I don't have answer to your question but i recently went through a 9 day addition of wellbutrin that went south and i have resumed my Celexa. Before the wellbutrin experiment i was on 20 of Celexa. Im now 6 weeks into waiting for it to work again. the first 4 weeks i tried my 20 dose and the past 2 ive been taking 25 without any relief from anxiety.

I hope you find relief with whatever dose you end up taking. i understand your struggle
