45 days post-op Nissen Fundoplication w/ mesh having eating problems

I am 45 day post-op from my nissen. I still cannot eat anything that doesn't get stuck in my chest, even after chewing small bites. I also still have horrible heartburn almost constantly which I don't understand. I haven't had any reflux since my surgery, so I don't know what could be irritating my esophagus. Just frustrated... maybe I'm expecting too much too soon.

Hi Mbonnette this is Leslie and thanks for answering my text you had your fundoplication Nissen 45 days ago I am glad you don't have acid reflux any more your still fresh from surgery it takes time to heal you know your other problems which you been having since your surgery talk to your doctor about the problems you been having since you surgery and I do hope for he can help put an end to your problems soon. Let me tell you a little about my problem I had my Nissen fundoplication warp of August of 2016 it was great I was feeling better than every I was off my reflux meds and I was thinking to myself this is one of the better surgery I every had than little bit by little my symptoms slowly return I could never get in touch with the doctor that did my surgery his office help said he was all book up or he was on vacation some docotor so in April of this year when saw my ear nose and throat doctor I told him what kinds of problems I be having since my surgery and his nurse call another chest surgeon who was in the same building I went for test and he told me my problem was the doctor that did the fundoplication surgery last year did the way way to tight since that surgery I could not burp or vomit and when I do need to get rid of gas it comes out of my back side which can be very unpleasant at times and when I do need to vomit it comes right from the back of my throat of all places and now because of that i have a very very sore throat again and now I have a new hernia because the lower part of the warp slip a little bit and that what give me my new hernia. So my new doctor have seen this before in people that has been warp as tightly as I have been I trust my new doctor I can really talk to him and tell him my problems and I can see he is a caring doctor and he wants to his best to help me find and end to my problem because when after I eat still get very very bloated I feel like I am going burst wide open then the real bed stomach pains begins and the very loud breaking wind begins and it getting worse so on October 11 2017 my new doctor is taking me back to the operating room to redo Nissen fundoplication redo surgery he is going to undo the old warp fix my new hernia make a new warp clean up old scar tissues and he will put in a mesh and insert a feeding tube but he said I will only have the feeding tube in for three days before he take it out and than I be on liquid diet for a while than slowly go on a very soft diet for a while than slowly back to regular foods again and my doctor me I be in the hospital for a week but I have faith and trust in my new doctor that he will end this once and for all it was so good to talking to you like I said you are still fresh from surgery and it takes time to heal but talk your doctor tell him or her what the problems you been having since your surgery and bet that they can help you with your problems and get you feeling better real soon so let's keep in touch and tell me how you are doing and I will let you know how I am doing before and after my fundoplication redo surgery. So god bless take care and let's talk again real soon very truly your Leslie

Good morning Mbonnette I hope you have a nice day sometime food gets stuck in my throat still and when that happens I have to very vomit it back up did you read my text that I sent to you ? My ear nose and throat doctor sent me to a new chest doctor about 2 months ago because I was having a hard time getting an oppointment with the doctor that did nissen fundoplication warp last August after I told my ear nose and throat doctor about the problems been having since my surgery my new chest doctor had me go for tests and my tests show that my Nissen fundoplication warp was warp way to tight that is why I can not burp or vomit after my surgery and he said he had seen problems like the ones I am having before in people who has been warp as tight as I have so he taking me back to surgery on October 11 2017 and the warp also gave me a new hernia as well but my new doctor the first thing he is going to do is take down the old warp fix my new hernia make a new warp with mesh and he is also going to insert a feeding tube but he said he will take it out after three day post surgery and I be in the hospital for a week then I be on liquid diet for awhile than a very soft food diet for awhile and then slowly going back to a regular diet I have faith and trust in my new doctor very much and I can tell that he is a very caring doctor and he wants to do his best for me I can really open up to to him and tell him about the problems that I been having since my fundoplication surgery I feel very sorry for you that you are still having problems after your surgery but it's only been 45 day and you need time to heal all that I can tell you to do is to talk to your doctor about your problems you been having after your fundoplication surgery and I bet your doctor can help you like my new doctor is helping me that's why I am having a redo fundoplication surgery next month so he can put my problems behind me once and for all so with that keep me posted on how things are going for you because I really want to know how you are coming along and i will try to help you as best as i can and i will keep you up dated as well on how I am doing before and after my redo fundoplication surgery as well so with take care and let's talk again real soon very truly yours Leslie
