4th time on Fluoxotine - side effects are different this time? Please help :(

I have been on and off Fluoxotine since the age of 14 (I'm 30) I suffer with Bipoloar, anxiety and OCD, before i have know then struggle of starting it - feeling extra anxious, increased panic attacks, insomnia getting worse, really bad heart palpatations and generally feeling like garbage.

I remember though how amazing it felt - last time it took around 3 months for it to work and me to realise i felt numb but human again - for some reason even thought i keep making a mental note - i stop taking it as soon as i feel better because i tell myself i dont need it.

This time my GP stated i need it and must continue taking it - so I have started on 20mg a day again and this time I'm getting piercing headaches on one side of my head and feeling jittery like i am on the verge of crying all the time. i dont remeber this happening last time, i keep waking up thinking im having a stroke and then having a total meltdown.

please tell me this is normal and someone else has experienced these headaches. 😦

im currently going through the same thing. this is my 3rd time on them i came off them for over a year but recent situations have put me in a bad place and i need the help.

ive been waking up with heart palpitations ( i remember this from the first time i started them)

i have a constant headache that makes me feel as if someone has taken a sledgehammer to my face. i feel jittery all over my body as if my whole body is vibrating. so i know how you feel.

it can be super nerve wracking can't it. but i remember feeling better after a few months so im going to persevere with it and hope for the best.

hope your side effects start to calm down soon. i am 1 month into mine and they are calming down

I remember those feelings all to well I have been on it for just over a year. I was warned by my GP that I would get super anxious and possibly have a panic attack until it was in my system good, and I had both, including feeling like I was going to faint. I would constantly worry about my health. I would see my veins real blue and think, Oh no...why are they soooo visible...well turns out being in a bath that is really hot...does that, lol. But I got inside my head and was making it a huge deal. I just went for my quarterly check in and part of me thinks I should have increased, because I sometimes feel I get in my head alot, and I flipped out at the store yesterday for waiting 30 mins...But I will see how things go. Best wishes and I hope you are feeling better.

Also for me it is the same! for 10 years on prozac then 1-2 years on lexapro everytime i take the med i start getting really bad headaches! And it has been about a year and any AD gives me the same headaches! At least the ones I have tried so far! Lexapro, fluvoxamine, paroxetine and even mirtazapine. what I find it interesting and weird is that benzos somehow take most of the pain away! On the other hand ssris help me on the other hand give me more energy and lift my depression.

I should mention that from 2017-2018 I did not take the lex regularly but like every 2-3 days or so and I thought maybe I messed something up but all p-docs seem to disagree!

Anyone has any insights or have progressed on this matter?
