Yes it's normal when you first start this med. It's your body adjusting to the new medication. You'll be ok in another few weeks...From what I hear. I too am having more anxiety than ever before going on it. Sometimes I want to say 'forget it, I'm better off without '! But my Dr said can take 6 to 8 weeks and then you'll be good. So hang in there

MY Dr Gave me xanax on those nights or times I feel bad anxiety and it helps. I don't suffer from anything BUT Anxiety. ... so I'm hoping zoloft takes it away!

Hang in there few more weeks! I am smile

Hi honey I was on sertraline for nearly 2 and half Yrs. Beginning is not so good but after few wks you will be OK. I was fine and I did not take anything else apart from sertraline oh yeah Nytol to help me sleep. Because I was good again I decided to stop... Advice don't. Hang in there. I started again taking them yesterday after stopping them for a few months. Whatever you are feeling is normal but I can assure you it will get better. smile

Thank you!... I have never had this much anxiety feelings EVER in my life.. so I get mad that this med is causing this.   BUT, I am going to try to hang in there and not stop because from what I read, it WILL work, but can take 6-8 weeks!....  I'm only on 3rd week (going into)...  So i'm also thinking that maybe 50mg isn't strong enough?  But my Dr. said give it more time.  So I am....  Just hoping it kicks in because this "beginning" anxiety is so annoying.  I never had it THIS bad...   Thanks!!! smile

I know how it is. I went up to 200mg...only started feeling me again after 100mg. But trust me it works. I was silly to stop it now I regret it and going through it all over again. I was on 50mg for 2 wks went up. Doctor wanted me to go up 100mg but then she said to cut the tablet in half and only take 75mg. So then after 2 more weeks I went up to 100mg then 125, 150. If you do it this way you won't feel the side effects that much they will ease. smile

Thank you Ilda!.. but my question is, shouldn't I give this 50 mg a little more time?  Or should I ask my Dr. for 75 mg pills?   I've only been on the 50 mg for 2 weeks...   So far no help..  stinks!!  sad   But I read I need to give it more time?  What do you suggest?

I would go up to 75mg let it settle for around 3 days and then up to 100mg. That's what I've done. Your Gp will give you 100mg tell them you want to go up to 75mg and then 100mg. I was on 50mg for 2 wks as soon as I saw my Gp she gave me 100 2 packs of 50mg I then cut the tablet in half to make 75mg and saved the other half for next day. But she told me to be on it for few days and then take the full 100mg. Let us know how you doing xxx
