4th week sertraline 50mg for GAD and derealization. Don’t feel better what should I do?

Hey,

Im on my 4th week of sertraline 50mg for GAD and derealization. I had awful side effects to begin with and they have gone now but i still dont feel much better. I still feel like im in a dream and dizzy. Im so scared that the medication isnt working and that ill feel like this forever. I cant see a light at the end of the tunnel and I dont know what to do. Has anyone else had derealization?

    Hi Abbie, stick with it. From previous experience (I have been on Sertraline a number of times) it has taken between 6 and 10 weeks to take effect. I know this is a little disheartening as you want to feel better now but you will get there. I have previous experience and even I am still doubting that it will work, but it does.

    ah i really know how you feel i came off them because i really couldnt handle the heightened anxiety and insomnia x
