4weeks after developing Guillain Barre Syndrome now have tingling all over chest

I was hospitalized with GBS for 2 weeks, symptoms mainly sensory with lack of power and coordination in both upper and lower limbs. Initially was unable to walk unaided, had difficulty holding anything in hands. I have been home now for 2 weeks with symptoms slowly improving, that is up until today now sensory symptoms getting slightly worse again and now affecting chest and face. My legs are also feeling heavy and achey. Should I be overly worried about this or is it a normal pattern of recovery

I don't know if this is a normal pattern of recovery but I had face symptoms as well as symptoms in my chest. I started getting twitching in my chest then my heart would race very easily. I got everything checked out and my results were normal but it definitely was not normal and it wasn't anxiety. I also had blurred vision with my face issues along with constant twitching and numbness. I had lots of other symptoms too. I absolutely hated the face symptoms! It's hard enough with the legs but it's even tougher when it feels like it's hitting you all over. My legs eventually felt heavy and painful too. That eventually went away though. PT helped me with everything. What kind of symptoms are you having with your face?

I also get tingling in my face and my legs ache and feel heavy especially if I've had a big week. Also get the racing heart. I also sometimes feel as if I'm off balance. I hope all these symptoms end soon!

I had the racing heart thing after that first sinus infection. It's like I could not regulate my heart rate. It would speed up and slow down. That had never happened to me before. It lasted for a couple months. I even had an EKG that was normal so it was not my heart. I didn't think so but I couldn't function very well with it like that. My balance was messed up too. The balance issue has happened to me several times when I have overdone things. I have seen a vestibular specialist PT when this has happened on and off that helped my balance. They say that I had some cranial nerve damage and it affects my balance at times. The exercises fixed that problem the few times it's happened over the 2 years of recovery. The heart thing just finally went away and has never been a problem since. I've had a couple of other sinus infections since without any problems thankfully. Hate getting sick especially for that reason but I know that I will. Just glad my body seems to be healing. They say 2 to 5 year recovery period. I had that tingling in my face and legs & weakness when I cleaned, worked out, or ran too much. It's the strangest condition!

Thanks for your reply! I'm sure everyone thinks I should be recovered by now. It is such a strange illness. Trying to stay positive and live for the good days 😊

Bad news is I have now contracted shingles! Really worried that this may trigger relapse of GBS, I have GP appointment tomorrow and I have neurological follow up next week, hoping for the best
