5 days in and worried

Hello all. I stumbled across this chat while on a Google hunt for answers as we all.do to avoid sitting in a and e for 10 hours to only be sent home with a red face and big parking bill haha.

I had a total hip replacement on 5th Sept and it all went fantastically, I recovered well and fast and was sent home after 3 days so I was more than happy with that. However . I have teenage girls and we all went t town yesterday to do a little shopping, mainly school uniform. But last night I noticed that it has become.swollen and the skin hard . it's not painful to the touch but it's still swollen now and my exercises were difficult to say the least. I'm 40 and stubborn but I'm wondering do I just rest and behave now or brave a and e

Hi, how long has it been since your op? Are you still using your crutches? If you stopped using them too soon you can overload the recovering muscles. My husband did this and it led to him developing a haematoma.

Hopefully you will be ok after some rest.
