5 Months and counting

These past few months have been irritating and life changing. I was recently diagnosed with GAD because I have had this anxious feeling for a long period of time.

I wake anxious and its on 24/7. Its than I expected. The duration is exhausting.

My symptoms have been unreal. Even though I dont feel anxious my anxiety is on.

I get a weird hyper sensation in my head, brain fog, like my head isnt clear, massive pressure in my forehead, nose tingles, aching on my rib where my liver is, mild panic attacks, and the list goes on forever. I think the most annoying part is having an odd feeling in my head thats makes me feel high, disoriented and brain fog.

This all started because of one phone call regarding my health and being let go from work (2) due to Covid 19 and lack of hours. I finally caved and had a huge anxiety attack which has been strong for months now.

I have tried many things and I am hoping to get a perspective on medications now.

I have a counsellor 1 x weekly.

I ready Anxiety Books and Apps.

I breath and use meditation and body scans.

I go for walks and I try you tube videos for mantras and mindfullness.

Now I am considering the next approach. Anti-Anxiety.

Thoughts on anti-anxiety medication please. or If I should keep trying without.

I understand completely! I have had relentless anxiety since I was a child. Complete with symptoms and sensations.it’s great that you are being proactive and getting counseling, walking, doing breathing and meditation etc. keep it up!

I have had all of your symptoms and then some! The most annoying one would be the weird head sensations, vibrations also extend to my arms and legs. But I have learned how to not let it upset me because they only get worse when I get upset. and none of these sensations are harmful.

if you had a recent physical check up and everything is OK then you can relax knowing that the symptoms are from the anxiety. You can have symptoms even if you don’t feel anxious.

As far as anti-anxiety medication, they do help to relax everything however you have to be careful because benzodiazepines like xanax are addictive. And you don’t want to go down that road.

I would say stay in counseling and keep doing what you are doing with the meditations etc. There are some great podcasts also for anxiety that you can find. I learned that one of the most important things we have to do is change our way of thinking because whatever we focus on is going to expand. There are lots of great videos on all of this on YouTube also.

Just the main things I learned is to stay positive, don’t overthink, don’t worry about the future, stay in the present moment because that’s all we have. And breathe! Sounds like you are doing a great job never ever ever give up! ❤

Thank you very much. Yes the trembling and shaking in the body is not fun. Especially when I wake.

I was think something not in the benzo category to try for my anxiety. I was also going to consider hypnosis.

So far everything we have checked medically has been fine. Just waiting for my MRI results on my head. Medically I am sound and what made me go anxious for the past 6 months was my results regarding a tumor. Which they believe is benign but now that I know the anxiety systems are still present and in my body everyday. Really hoping for a switch off.
