5 or 6 months ago i was precribed Ramipril 2.5mg for high blood pressure and my skin has not stopped itching since In places it is red raw and has been leaking a clear fluid. I stopped taking the drug but the side effects have not gone away. I suffer from a skin complaint called icthiosis, my own GP cannot find a cure and the dermatoligist at the hospital thinks that the cause is propably the Ramipril I would like to know how long will it be until my skin reverts to its original dry condition

I am already on so many drugs to reduce blood pressure, I can hardly function BP was over 204/1something at Christmas, now down to 155/something (can never remember the lower figure) but at least it is coming down.
Obviously, don't want a stroke or heart attack, but neither do I want these side affects, which damage your way of life!
I am sorry that those who have been prescribed ramipril have suffered, but grateful for you to sharing your experience and at least stopped me from taking this until I have sought further advice.
Very best wishes to you all.
Best Regards
Tony Stimson
