5 surgerys to attach a detached Patella ends in Osteomylitus and ultimate amputation

I hope and pray that by Gods grace, that nobody in the rest of the world has had to go through these issues. If you are one to believe that no doctor in his right mind would  leave packing in my knee that would cause 4 different surgery's, 4 different infections, ending in MRSA, going septic, My patella had to be removed because after 3 months after surgery, the wet, infected packing laid on top of the Patella which was submersed in MRSA and killed the bone. The Femur and Tibia are all necrotic. NO way to solve this except above the knee amputation in 3 weeks. Attorneys have all the proof they need to file negligence but its too expensive to fight for just 1 million malpractice MAX. I was a professional Baseball Umpire on my way to the big leagues, THATS OVER. I had fell down a step and detached my patella. Simple surgery for 99% of good doctors. My doctor and his wife were on the show "Married to Medicine', multi millionaires that left me high and dry, broke, and CRIPPLED. YEA I AM P****D....  I went from 175K per year to $23,766 in disability. my wife doesn't really want me anymore. I'm 54 and lost everything. Yea, I tried really hard in the beginning but when the doctors or the hospital ignores you hoping it will all just go away or maybe he will just die, you understand real quick that there is NOBODY TO HELP YOU WHEN DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS GET IT WRONG.   

?I sincerely pray every night that no single individual in this world is ever treated like I have been treated. When I tell you that nobody really cares at all and doctors basically laugh in your face, I'm not exaggerating.

    Ozman,  First, my heart is aching for you right now as the tears are rolling down my cheeks.  I cannot even fathom what you are going through.  I encourage you to find a counselor who has dealt with this type of trauma to help you deal with the anger and despair you are experiencing.  Most certainly there are incompetent and uncaring doctors and it sounds like you are dealing with the guy who was the last one in his medical school graduation.  But there is the one who was at the top of his class and has helped many people.  I know you are in no space in your life to believe that, but if you hear stories of successes, hopefully it will help a little.

    I am facing a total knee replacement after a failed partial.  I, too, had a doctor who should not be operating on humans, who told me I shouldn’t be having such pain since I only had a partial.  I have pieces of bone floating in my knee and the knee is coming loose.  After 4 doctors, I have found one who believes me, who  teared up as I told her my story, who wants to fix me.  So keep searching.

    i don’t know you or your relationship with your God.  I could give you all the platitudes,  God doesn’t give you more than you can handle,blah ,blah, blah...you are not even close to accepting that,  My God lets me be angry and I too am very angry.  But He is always by my side and he will get me through this.  Your God will do the same.  

    Please , please, be gentle with yourself.  Keep posting so we can follow your progress.  My husband and I are senior softball players and we played the disabled veterans softball team.  THere were amputees playing...both legs, arms, feet.  They looked out of the box and found a way.  YOU will too.

    My goodness bless you, and I would definitely like to wish you a speedy recovery. I've recently been so-called the Orthopedic 'thinks' it's C.Patella that I've got with my knee. I had my first appointment last week and he wants me to start with Therepy, but next week I'm going to have to get in immediately with my GP because since he had although gentle feel around of my knee and a couple of bends later my knee has been in worse pain ever since 'its unreal'. I wish they wouldn't just go on a' I think's it's Chondromalacia Patella sorry that's a word n half to spell anyway because he could just about started 'anything' off! Mine is in agony to the right mainly of top knee, behind the knee & above knee with swelling.

    O gosh, this is horrible.  I'm so sorry.   I'm losing my faith in my ortho now.  At first he was all about my recovery now when I call them (4 mths post op) they don't return my call.   I'm nowhere near having a normal life again.

    Your story gives me chills! Your right about the Drs not caring anymore its like your a # and they ? your chart give u scripts and send u on your way. When you try to start a discussion about what's going on or how your feeling its like they look at u as if saying "oh 15 min up I don't give a F" Totally sucks you can't sue and get what u deserve. I wish I could give you a Huge Hug!!! I'm on day 16 after total left knee replacement and this pain is unreal!! I'm worried about my progress and the fact that I can barely bend my knee but some how after reading your story I'm more concerned with you than me. Please keep me posted on your well being. Music heals the soul I think so listen to James E Walls "Peace" its one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I'm sending Love and Positive Energy your way Oz ,you've got a new friend😊
