5 Weeks & 2 days on Zoloft (Sertaline) 50 mg - In need of advises :')!

Hi guys,

Hope you're all doing well and I hope everybody gets a lot better soon.

I've been on Zoloft for 5 weeks and 2 days. The first 2 weeks were bad, the 3rd and 4th weeks were "meh" fine, but last week (5th week) was just horrible honestly. A lot of negative thoughts and not enjoying the things I used to enjoy at all. Starting to lose hope on the medicine.

I've had a chat with my doctor yesterday and he advised me to go up to 75mg so I have this morning.

Is it really true that it if it gets a lot WORSE then it means the medicine is actually working :D? Will I get be better with it or should I give up on it and change it with the doctor? Although he advised to up the dose haha.

Lots of loveeeeeeeeeee to everyone on the forum, thanks for any advices!

Cheers,

Sam

Hi Sam.   What you describe is quite common and normal for this drug you generally feel worse before you feel better and sometimes you feel a bit better first and then worse, everybody reacts to it uniquely.

Hi Laura, thanks for the reply, I reallyy appreciate it!

I'm hoping this is only a phase and it will pass, I'm also hoping the bump to 75mg doesn't cause more upset hehe.

      Appreciate it a lot,

      Sam

Generally you will feel more anxious when you increase but it will pass try not to focus on it and keep reminding yourself it’s just the meds and will calm down.
