Morning all, well here we are 5 weeks today since my left THR, walking quite easy with one crutch, I can walk in home without a crutch, but limp a bit, mussels not strong enough yet.  Still cant get a full nights sleep  laying on my back, up  at 3 ish every morning, get my 6 week check up 7th May (7 weeks) then should be ok to sleep om my side and drive etc.  Having said all that , I would have it done again tomorrow, I,m standing upright, the pains gone, and it can only get better, Looking forward to flying somewhere nice and sunny in June, "warm sand, warm sea, cold beer,) I,m excited already !!. Well its 5.10 am now,  been up since 3 am, I think I,ll have another cup of tea, then take the dog for a walk,

Have a great day Hippies

God bless

Brian

    Morning Bri,

Two sugars and a bacon sarnie if u making and close to Gravesend.

Same situ as you but am just short 6 weeks, but also very happy. Dealing with muscle stiffness bit by bit so happy hippie days.

This week fed up sleeping on back so decided sleep on my good side with big pillow between knees and thigh....sleep been bliss. Wake up bt stiff but after few paces side of hip good. Decided where you off to in June ? We booked a week at end of July in Nice by train....bring it on.  Well, another day exercise then feet up watch the cricket test match (wife willing).

Best wishes and regards to you and all hippies. smile

4.5 weeks here not walking without frame but sleeping on side or stomach and that  makes a big difference in quality of sleep.  Hope all goes well at your follow up appt and you have a great trip

Same as you guys (4 weeks post op) and making great progress. I also got a bit cheeky and put a pillow between my legs to try sleeping on my side.  Utter heaven! It was so good to have a decent night's sleep.

There's a cafe by us where you can get a bacon sarnie and a cup of tea or coffee for £2.95. which I think is pretty good.  Enjoy your day.

    Hi brian and others

O how brave to sleep on side. I cannot sleep at all and I don't think it aids recovery. Also anyone getting headaches?  Not sure if pulling back on meds doing it or the anti coagulant tablet.

can walk with one crutch in house but two outside still. Operated knee buckled yesterday for no reason so glad of two crutches.  Seem to get very irritable when I have done too much. This sweeping tiredness hits me very quickly.

booked holiday for end of May in campervan!   Hope I can manage.

He too has oa of spine, hips and knees! Has been on a bucket load of pills but they are not doing his system any good! He's also deaf and severely sighted! We have two small dogs and have a dog walker a couple of times a week! I will be seeing consultant next week! I am on a crutch in house and use a couple of crutches when out for confidence! Hi Brian,

think we are a bit early in the mussels season for them to be strong...try them with white wine and/or garlic.....

I've just had, at 7 weeks today, several comments about my standing and walking better, and I'm getting faster week by week. I tried to follow a pretty blonde in town today, but could not keep up. Maybe in a few weeks time...?.

Still gotta wait another 10 days before the supposed '6 week' check up, but have been doing things as my body feels ready for them. like yes, at week 6 hosp said I could bath if I felt ready, and I did so just fine. Confess I've slept on side from day one and ward seemed quite relaxed about that! Indeed am sleeping lots cos body needs i

    Cheers
