5 Weeks Post Op - SSF, Posterior Repair & Perineum Repair

Posted , 3 users are following.

I went to my post op physio appointment last week. She was pleased with my progress & has said I'm ok to drive. It's so nice to be able to go out on my own! Am doing small amounts of lightweight shopping/cleaning/baking.

Still have discharge which is going on longer than with my first op but I suppose I've had more done this time. Physio said it was quite normal but will ask my consultant when I see her just before Christmas.

I'm still taking it easy and resting most of the day. It has been much easier than I was expecting and I haven't got bored yet! Bowel is working almost normally, I don't think things will ever be 100% due to the dreaded IBS but at the moment I am feeling positive.

Take care in the snow! X

Thank you Phyl.  You know how worried I was about all this, I'm so pleased that it has gone well so far.  The hardest thing has been stopping myself from doing too much!  My family have been amazing I couldn't have done it without their support and, of course, the support & advice of everyone on here. Yes, so very difficult to cope when time drags and you feel able do more than you actually can; keep the end goal of a successful repair in mind. Will be do worth while in the end.
