50 to 100

I have been on 50mg of sertraline for just under two weeks and can't say I have felt much different! I am a bit disappointed as I hoped for some improvement.
So - some poeple have said it can take longer to get into your system. If so, how long?
Also, if I am moved up to 100mg, what can I expect side effects to be?
Can anyone who has been on 100mg let me know what happened when they took it - good or bad?
What was it like overall?
Thanks!

It usually takes at least 2 weeks to feel any benefit from Setraline. Wait until you've been taking it for say 3 weeks and if you still feel no better at all go back to your GP to discuss.
I've been on varying doses between 50mg and 150mg for 2 years and the only side effect I noticed was a reduction in libido which is annoying but nothing compred to anxiety.

I know I have talked about this before on here, but I just felt like I was losing patience with it, and wondering why nothing had changed. Is 50mg considered a weak/low dose?

As Mazza has said 50mg is low. It is the starter dose for most people. I had to move up to 100mg after about a month or so. I know it's difficult but try not to think about any side effects, they are quite rare but naturally Dr's have to mention them to cover themselves.
It's a positive thing that you have sought help and are now taking a medication that has been proven to help.

I do worry about side effects a lot, and then tend to feel anxious because I'm worrying about them!

Iv never been so poorly on 100mg, lay in bed staring at 4 walls all day, zombie, wouldnt speak or see anyone, vivid dreams, waking up screaming,
Doc should have kept me on 50mg for at least 3 wks, but was put on 100mg end of my first wk ,
I reduced the dose myself back to 50mg and the last 2 days iv been better thank gawd,
You might be ok, but i know most people on here have had bad side effects the first month or so
Good luck in whatever you decide
Take care
