50mg to 100mg

Hi all,

I’m on week 8 of 50mg. I have been doing & feeling so well on it since about week 4 or 5 but the past week or so I’ve had abit of a wobble. Started feeling very anxious, tearful, nauseous again, trouble getting to sleep. I went to see my doctor yesterday who thinks I should up my dosage to 100mg. I’m a little worried about upping it. For those of you who have upped from 50mg, how did you find it?

I feel like I’ve taken a big step back after doing quite well ??

Hi Bee. I was on 50 for about 4 months and then upped to 100. I do have some side effects but not as severe as when i just started with the meds. This time around i know its the pills and not anything that is going to kill me. My issue was anxiety, i would feel like i was vibrating. U will feel better. I read on this forum that you will have bad days here and there even being on it for awhile. But i will take that compared to how i felt before zoloft. Hope u start feeling better soon.🐝

I would go up to 75mg. I went up in 25mgs at a time and was not good until I reached 100mg. I can now quite honestly say sertraline has saved my life. I am now on 150. I do still feel anxious at times but I'm back at work after being off for almost 8 months.

Really sounds like you need to increase as 50mg is a very low dose

    Good luck

Hi i really do like telling people what to do especially when it comes to medication and i should know, i have been ill and suffering since i was 14 and i am 54 now, i have depression anxiety ibs , eating disorders, severe migraines, insomnia, BDD, you may think my god, i do but all these are linked, and it took all these years doctors specialists, tests, drugs and alternative medicine to find out, but there is a good side i suffered for so long went through hell, but you learn a lot and you learn about how your mind and body works, and that is where you come in, you are young so you are finding out about yourself, but its good you can find out early not like me, and that is where there is lots of help, and also we are all individuals , i find the drug you are talking about works for others made me sick, i took 50mg, for 4 weeks then 100mg for 3 weeks , i could not get out of bed, went back down to 50mg , still no good, so i came off them, not going to lie my depression came back, so i told doctor , he recommended counselling, it is brilliant, talking about everything and what is causing the the depression, is far better for me than popping pills, but everyone is different, you can combined the both, i would do what feels right for you , hope this helps
