Hello

This is my third time on sertraline and previously after 12 weeks on 50mg I had fantastic results. This time I am so down and confused as after 13 weeks on 50mg I was not there at all although I was getting the odd evening and occasional day where I was myself. It's is nigh on impossible at the moment to see my preferred GP due to COVID so I had a quick call with a GP who I don't know who said go upto 100mg and come back in 12 months!

I was frightened to go to 100 so tried 75mg for 5 weeks with not much difference.Called GP again and a different Doctor told me to go down to 50mg for 4 weeks and see how I feel.I'm just past 2 weeks on 50mg and feel anxious shakey and low . I really don't know what to do as I'm given different advice from GPs.I know COVID has affected my life but really don't want to carry on feeling like this - I know my life is great I just don't feel it yet. This forum has been a god send for me in the past so if anyone has any advice please share it - I'd be extremely grateful.Thank you so much.

Hi I'm sorry to hear you are having a hard time. My doctor started me at 50mg for 1 week then wanted me to increase to 100mg. I was scared to do that so I stayed on 50 for 5 weeks then increased to 75 for 3 weeks now I'm on 100 for almost 3 weeks. I definitely feel better and the medicine has completely stopped my panic attacks shortly after starting but I still have anxiety quite often 😩 my doctor says anything lower than 100mg isn't therapeutic. But everyone responds differently. Hang in there and give it more time!
