Hi everyone
My 17 year old daughter has been suffering from ebv since September.
Last week which was her fourth month she was better less body ache better appetite concentration.
But since her fifth month started this week she has had terrible body ache can't sleep without Tylenol.
Crazy exhausted even after 9 hrs of sleep .
Temperature always around 97 to 97.4.
Keeps complaining of heat in her body.
She has been on homoeopath for around one month..and last month she was feeling much better.
But now feeling very disillusioned.
She is in 12th grade and has exams in a month..so feeling stressed as well as can't concentrate..low energy.
Been giving her turmeric..wheat grass..cq10..please help..really don't know what to do..

If there is an option to retake this year I would definetely go for it. I'm 11 months into this and still suffering. Months 5-8 were the worst for me. Also the more she rests right now the better are chances she won't develop chronic fatigue.

Unfortunately in India you can't retake grade 12th exams..these are for entry into college

This is very normal for EBV, some good days and then relapse. I think that it is a good sign that she had some good days, this is the first step on the road to recovery, the immune system will eventually get it under control.

Hi Maneka,
Definitely agree with Mono that it's a good sign your daughter has had some good days and that this is a very normal course for the virus, which I know doesn't help but I hope it offers some reassurance that it is very normal for her to be experiencing these symptoms after this length of time and go on to make a full recovery. The fact she is young too also helps greatly, and I really believe that as the year goes on into its mid part, she will start to experience much more of a full recovery and feel her body resilience returning again.
It's hard to watch on and not know what to do, it sounds like you're doing all the right things by supporting her and just remind her that exams aren't the end of the world and just to do her best and take a bit of pressure off it possible, it's so hard to have to go through exams when dealing with the virus.
There is hope Maneka and I do believe your daughter will make a full recovery, don't panic if it doesn't come right away, because it will come, and the months that she has been through until now are by far the worst and the intensity will lessen as time pass until full recovery comes forth.
Take care and thinking of you - really empathising with how you feel but remember things will get better - they really will. Taking vitamins and herbs is a great idea, a good strong multi-vitamin and a B complex and extra Vitamin C also a great idea.

I feel this way about my daughters struggle too. She just contracted a cold/flu and it seems to set you back when combined with mono. It is a good sign that your daughter was feeling better for awhile, this is how recovery starts and it is very normal to have relapses along the way.
