Is this the 5th on same knee? I remember you writing some previous about it?? Hope your doing well and not trying to be like me in having 5 going on 6 TKR's all on the same knee. There must be something about L knee's all my problems concern the L knee its great. Not familiar with a hinged knee is it different than a typical knee prosthesis? I was worried about what they would have to about fixing mine since after 5 there just is not enough bone to properly attach a new implant to, the surgeon told me that is a very easy fix he told me as well as showed me he can get any size implant he needs its not an issue. One less thing to worry about at least for me. What do you mean by it shoots forward? I have had my share of issues but not sure about what you are referring to.

Hi April, is "loafs" short for "loads of"?
What kind of problems? My wife has gotten two infections after PKR and we're waiting for the TKR when she feels up to it. He (the Dr.) said he can't imagine doing a TKR more than once since it's so involved and "permanent" but I know it has to be repeated at times.
Are you going to the best doctor in your state (area)?

OMG this is your 5th TKR on same knee??? That's awful! Can I ask why they have had to do it so many times? I had my right knee done 2 n a half years ago and it is total crap! They want to put a patella button in but I'm so worried about it not working out...I'm not game to let them touch me!! Also, what is a hinged knee? Thanks April.

I think she wrote prior its her 5th TKR but not on the same knee just not sure?? I on the other hand YUCK!! have had so far 5 TKR's all on the same knee for a total of 17 since 03. My next and boy do I hope it's my last is June 18th the last implant was not properly aligned. Pain is an everyday event some worse then others. As far as your choice on not getting your knee operated on you have to determine can you live with it like it is , will it get worse, should you look for a better surgeon?? Not everyone has the great success story ( wish I did!! ) but even considering the ones that didn't the odds are still in your favor you will have a great outcome. From my own experience not every surgeon knows everything which you would think that as much training etc they have had they would. I for one cannot stand pain it flat out stinks if I could deal with it maybe then I would reconsider surgery but as it stands I wish my surgery was last month. Just giving you my opinion.

I didn't think they could do that many. My wife's surgeon says he doesn't even want to think about repeating a TKR because it's so involved with shaving bone and everything he has to do the original time. She has a temporary "spacer" in there now but that's not letting her walk very well.
What to do mean about 17 since 03. 17 surgeries total? All over your body?
Wow!

All I can say is: "unbelievable" you must be very brave.
Hopefully the 18th will be the finish of future problems!

CELEBREX!!!! I've been on celebrex for almost 20 years. I'm trying to give it up at the moment after reading how dangerous it is. Can anyone give me some feedback on what...if any...withdrawal symptoms they had? I am in agonising pain but I expected that. Just a lot of other symptoms I am feeling are not good. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks all.
