I am on my 5th week of taking Sertraline, I started on 25mg for the first 3 weeks and then moved onto 50mg for the last couple of weeks.

I am taking Sertraline as I have suffered with general anxiety for 5 years but a couple of months ago became depressed and feeling physically ill and not my self at all.

So far Ive been up and down with Sertraline, first 2/3 weeks I felt terrible but then started feeling a little better when I started on 50mg. Last week I had one day for the first time in 5 years at work where I had a day with 0 anxiety. My depression and physical symptoms of aches and pains and fatigue have cleared. I also suffer from agrophobia which is what makes me feel worse. For the last few days my anxiety has increased. Head feels terrible 50% of my day especially in social situations.

I go on holiday to Florida in just under 3 weeks as I never want to let my anxiety stop me doing anything I want to do. And I see my doctor Monday. I'm not sure whether to give 50mg longer and risk feeling as bad as I do now. Or up my dose to 75mg/100mg and hope the side effects ease and I feel better before I leave in 3 weeks time. What does everyone think ?

I would go to 100mg but don't go any higher it seems when I went higher that's when I started getting the terrible side effects of extreme anxiety. Good luck d

How are you doing now ? How long have you been taking them and did you have any side effects from going up to 100mg and how long did that last

I think you need to up your dosage to 100mg. I stayed on 100mg for 14 yrs without any problems. You need to stay fit by exercising, eating healthy, and deep breathing/meditation daily to control your anxious thoughts and feelings.
