6 days a+p repair and stent insertion

Hi, I am 6 days post op anterior and posterior repair. Op went wrong, surgeon stitched my urethra leaving me in agonising pain. Had an emergency procedure to remove a suture and release urethra and have a stent inserted.

I'm now experiencing some bleeding. It's not heavy at all, change pad probably once a day but even then it's usually light, pinkish and mixed with discharge. Had a couple of moments where its been a bit darker, but usually light pink.

Is this normal? Still having pain, not too bad, but to be honest I never know what to attribute the pain to, the repair or the stent. I'm absolutely consumed with worry that I'll never be normal again.

Is it normal to still have some bleeding and pain nearly a week on?

I'm seeing consultant next Tuesday but not sure how I'm going to get through the next week.

I'm 37,with a 4 year old and a single parent. I have lots of help but need to know there's light at the end of the tunnel.

    Anyone?

Sorry if I haven't followed forum etiquette etc, it's my first time on these boards, and I'm also taking some fairly hefty painkillers which might have affected the tone of my post x

    Hi there

I had anterior and posterior repair 7 weeks ago and was told it's normal to bleed up to 3 weeks after surgery. Sounds like u have had a really tough time. I hope u start feeling better soon. I went back 2 work 2day ended up doing almost a 12hr shift and came home exhausted. Rest up as much as u can with part of the day horizontal.

Thank you for getting back to me!

I was worried that the light bleeding might mean the repair had failed, would there be a lot of blood if the stitches had come away?

I can't cope with the idea of having to have it done again. I've already got a further op scheduled to remove the stent in my kidney 😪

Wishing you a speedy recovery too, I'm impressed you're back at work after 7 weeks!

HI. I’m 12 days post op after having vaginal hysterectomy and posterior repair. I’m bleeding a bit but not heavy at all and was told that was normal. I have quite a lot of pain still around my stitches and my bottom can be really painful at times, feels like severe pressure up there. I’ve had a bit of discharge but not offensive so I’m guessing it’s ok. Ive spoken to some of the ladies on here and had some great advice.

One thing everybody has said is to rest rest and more rest and don’t lift, bend or squat which I can imagine will be very difficult as you have a 4 year old. I thought I should maybe be doing more and pushing myself more ( my consultant said I could make brews, Hoover and do anything my body feels up to doing ) but have been told that’s the worse thing I can do. I literally manage to walk around the house and garden one or twice a day.

Im 44 and normally work full time and look after my family and home but I can honestly say this op has floored me.

i think there will be light at the end of the tunnel is will just take time to get there, try and be patient ( I’m not patient at all😂 ) and good luck

S**t, I've just put a couple of drops of tea tree oil on my pad. I did this post partum as was told it was good for stitches.

Worried I'm going to affect the biological graft used.

Will it be OK? I'm an idiot.
