6 days on prozac, feel more suicidal than normal, intense anger

Hey - I know that it says you should contact a medical professional immediately on the bottle if you feel suicidal. But I never act on it, it's just one of the symptoms of my depression. However, since taking 20 mg of prozac (for 6 days now), those feelings have really intensified. I am also angry a lot.  Im scared to go back to doc before my 4 wk check up because I've already tried Wellbutrin, Celexa and Zoloft. I really want prozac to work.

Did anyone else have these symptoms and then they disappear?

Prozac is stronger than Celexa and Zoloft and can make people feel agitated.

All SSRIs typically make the depression worse before they make it better.

    Hi there...

sorry but that's just how it goes with this drug, the first two weeks are hell on earth, and u mean bad, my doc told me that it would happen so I was told to at least stick the two weeks out, then it's not a easy road for you I'm afraid, this drug is very slow to work, I'm now on 60mg after 3 mths, and I'm only really starting to feel really good again, so uv got to just take your time, as if you keep giving in then you will just start back at the being again...

Iv been on a few meds for depression, and this drug as been the worse for feeling bad, and for taking a good while for things to settle, but im glad I stuck it out now, as my depression as gone away now, I'm not saying I don't have a bad day now and again, but that's normal as we are not robots lol...

So all I can say it's way, way to early for you to see any bit of change, try and take each day as it comes, and try and think one you will be glad that Uv gave this med a chance to work, but I really do feel for you as I know what it is like, and don't think you can carry on, we've all been there..

So good luk, and keep in touch how you are going big hug 🤗X

Called my doctor this AM, and as I feared, he told me to discontinue use of prozac immediately. I'm wondering if he did this because I said I was feeling more suicidal than usual so he's required to by law? I really don't want to discontinue it if this symptom will go away in a couple weeks. Really at a loss at what to do but guess I need to listen to him... I hate having to stop and start all these different meds... no idea what he'll recommend next... As noted, I've tried everything. Any one have anymore advice? Should I seek a second opinion before discontinuing?
