6 Month Knee Pain (Video of pulsing?)

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi,

I've had knee pain for 6 month now after an accident at work. MRI and nerve conduction tests came back normal and now I take codeine to get through the pain, 30-45mg per day usually.

I wake up at night and it's like pins and needles sensation 2/3 times a night but recently I'v noticed this pulsing sensation on the inside of my knee and managed to catch it on camera finally. Any ideas?

Hi Liam, I had a total knee replacement one year ago. Four months after surgery I started getting twitches in both of my legs. You could actually see the muscles moving under the skin. I have since been diagnosed with benign fasciculation syndrome.  It is mostly in my legs but can feel them once in awhile in other places on my body. I also had an EMG and nerve conduction tests which came out normal except for a little neuropathy in my legs. This may be what you are experiencing.  The neurologist is confident in his diagnosis as long as no other symptoms present themselves. He has given me numerous strength tests which I have passed with flying colors. I am just living with it, it is no serious or life threatening, thank God! Take care & hope this has helped you in some way!

Over a number of years, I had problems with both my knees (45+ years of playing hockey).  All the X-rays and four MRIs (two each knee years apart from each other) revealed nothing.  Each time, the ortho had to scope the knee.  Each knee had a town meniscus and a ripped femoral condyle.  Four incidents...four scopes.  All successful.  Sometimes, they just gotta go in to see what's wrong and fix it.
